Pre-lien Notice

Pre-lien Notice

A materialman or supplier must provide a Notice to Owner. If given prior to providing materials, the claimant will be entitled to a full price lien. If provided after materials are provided, the claimant will be entitled to a limited (unpaid balance) lien.

For all other workers, a Notice to Owner prior to beginning work is not required, but may help to secure payment faster.

All workers, except contractors, must provide a Notice of Unpaid Lien to the owner before they may file a lien.
